After writing about how technology will ultimately defeat globalism a couple of weeks back, here is evidence that it is happening now. I argued that technology, such as advanced robots, would see manufacturing returning to the end market. Thus US companies would manufacture in the US, not in, for example, South-east Asia.

This month German company Adidas has fired up a robotic factory in Germany to make sneakers. While there is some pesky human involvement, that is likely to be soon replaced. The German factory is to supply Germany only. The next robotic factory to open will be in the US for that market exclusively.

This will change the way the world trades. Read an article on Adidas here at stuff.tv.
